We bathed in the dark...
...measured our growth on the wall...
and grieved for Charlotte

January 1st marks the beginning of a new year and new beginnings.  It was kismet that we should finish our first chapter book tonight.  "Charlotte's Web" ended while Lucas lay nestled, already asleep, to my left and Eli curled to my right.  At nearly 4 and a half he was able to read the last two words before shifting, then reshifting and falling asleep.

Happy New Year, friends.  May you find joy in all that's new and peace in all that's ended.

"Life is always a rich and steady time when you are waiting for something to happen or to hatch."
--EB White from "Charlotte's Web"
